As Pope Francis concludes his pilgrimage to the Holy Land, all Franciscans are encouraged to take this opportunity to walk in solidarity with our Holy Father and all the peoples of the Holy Land. The Franciscan Friars of the Holy Name Province have developed several new resources to help.
First, a reflection by By Robert Lentz, OFM telling of his endearing experiences with the Palestinian “living stones.” Second, a 16-minute video illustrates the joys and hopes of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, as well as the challenges they face. Finally, a fact sheet offering opportunities to advocate for middle east peace.
Solidarity is not just an emotional feeling of connection; it is both the acknowledgment and strengthening of our relatedness as Children of God. To contemplate and empathize with others’ experiences – in order to deepen our relatedness – requires effort. We urge you to use and share these resources.
