This week in Catholic higher education, the conversation on Laudato Si’ and climate change continues with a new focus: U.S. public policy. This Thursday, November 12, The Catholic University of America invites all to a panel discussion entitled: “Laudato Si’ and the American Catholic Church”.
Hosted and moderated by Maria Mazzenga, director of the Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies at CUA, the discussion will include three panelists:
- Julie Sullivan, President, University of St. Thomas
- John Carr, Director, Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life, Georgetown University
- Kevin Irwin, Department of Theology and Religious Studies, The Catholic University of America
What will they discuss? The Obama administration’s recent rejection of the northern extension of the Keystone XL Pipeline? The Clean Power Plan? There’s only one way to find out: RSVP for the event here!
How is your campus engaging with Laudato Si’ and public policy? Let us know!
